Catch-Up and Froufrou Stuff

When I first got into lolita, I really did have an admiration for sweet lolita. It has gradually turned more and more sour, the more things get added to people's heads. It's always the heads, why not the rest of the outfit?! It sort of clicked into place a few days ago when a sweet-lolita obsessed friend of mine made a remark that sort of amused me. She commented on her Facebook about a new pair of circle lenses and how the old ones gave her tunnel vision.

The above little doodle resulted from her remark. It could use some refining, but I'm happy enough with it for now.

I've been doing a lot of sketches and newspaper comic-style panels the last few days, mostly based around situations at work (like the "I'm a designer!" dude that came in and bought upholstery vinyl to make a dress). It's a way for me to keep busy because I haven't felt well enough to go out with the camera. There will probably be a lot more of these in the near future, because things are going to start getting a bit hinky.

Right, so. Since this blog started, my health has been absolutely crap.

I got very ill in October, which led to me losing the job I had at the time. Since then, I've had sporadic bursts of abdominal pain and fever. My gynecologist thought it was a cyst, but found nothing. She recommended that I see a gastro specialist in my area who is highly recommended.

After a quick exam, a look over the hospital records and a half-hour discussion of symptoms and timing, she concluded that it is very likely that I have a case of long-term appendicitis. The idea startled me.

I have known four people whose appendices have had to be removed; three of those cases were acute, in that the appendix ruptured or was removed within a week of their symptoms showing up. The other case I had thought was also acute, but it turns out that I was wrong. His actually has more in common with me than the others.

Thus, on Monday I will be going to the hospital for a CT/CAT scan to assess whether my appendix needs to come out and if so, how quickly. Part of me is bummed out that this is going to cost me an arm and a leg (I'm already borrowing cash from my parents to cover the CT) but part of me is just eager to get this fixed, whatever it may be.

Cute doodle. OTT is cute at times, but I don't understand why they have to pile on accessories on mostly on their head.

I still like sweet though, just toned down a bit.

I'm so sorry about your health! At least you know what it could be. The money situation sucks, but if the funds are available...it seems a better idea to fork it over than go through recurring abdominal pains & fever

The tunnel vision thing is pretty hilarious. And sorry to hear that about your health :(

Cute doodle you got there and sorry about your health. Apparently an appendix can be removed without any consequence. hope it all goes well.

I still keep Sweet Lolita and Deco Lolita separate :P I like Sweet Lolita. Deco, not so much, but to each her own!

Hope you feel better soon :o Appendix troubles are scary! One of my friends had his removed and it exploded right after they took it out O_o

Did you old job not give you medical leave? That is pretty sad :(
